Bad Sport

This isn't wanything to do with Bond. This is from run of the mill commentary, a bad game from Xbox Live.

Actually, it was a good game. I played well, and was in first place on my team. My team won. Yet, a certain level of jerkiness marred it towards the end.

Imagine you were playing a soccer match. You slide tackle an opposing play, who then knocks one of your own off play, yet you team still carries the match. Yet your teammate starts slide tackling you for the rest of the game, even through he is the lowest scorer on your team. That is essentially what happened to me.

I was playing Ghost Recon. It's a military shooter, and in multiplayer teams square off as opposing American and Russian factions of elites special forces and compete to take objectives. I had placed a claymore to protect one of our objectives, and when an enemy set it off (dying) my erstwhile comrade died as well.

In Ghost Recon, there is almost no such thing as friendly fire. Shooting your own team does not damage them. Explosions tend to do less damage, but can still kill, yet your team will not set off your mines. This guy just had the bad luck to get caught in the blast of my mine when it was set off by someone else.

Man, how he bitched. "Why would you put a claymore there?". Then he decided he would teach me a lesson. For the rest of the game, he fired grenades at me. He killed me twice in the final three minutes of the game.

Anyway, it was annoying him. I muted him, and quit the lobby when we were done. I did notice that I had the highest score on our team, and he the lowest. That tells you something.
